Impactful investment in business
ACC launched a $50m Impact Investment Fund in September last year. The Fund has twin objectives to generate a positive impact on the health, safety, and wellbeing of New Zealanders while also achieving superior risk-adjusted returns to sustain ACC for generations to come. The Impact Fund aligns to ACC’s environmental, social and governance approach that recognises the public good role at the heart of the corporation and its legislation. The Impact Fund complements the broader work that ACC already does in injury prevention. In this presentation, George Adams will provide an overview of the Fund with examples of impact investments to date. ACC welcome interest from businesses that are seeking investment to make a positive difference to the health, safety, and wellbeing of New Zealand.

International Keynote: From fragmentation to unification - the importance of understanding systems before solving them
Safety is in practice accepted as a problem in itself that should be solves by specialised tools and methods. The same goes for other priorities or issues. But if a company's performance is considered more broadly, safety is but one side of it. In order to remain successful under increasingly unpredictable conditions, it is necessary that management is based on a unified perspective which acknowledges how traditionally separate issues are interrelated.

Through this presentation, Kate will share how the health program was implemented and positive impact that strong leadership and support from the board, executives and contractors had on driving better health outcomes over time.

Closing Keynote: Curiosity - how we lost it and why it's so important
Before going to school, a child asks up to 100 questions an hour, by the age of 11 this has dropped to almost zero. So what is curiosity anyway and why is it so important? Dr Michelle Dickinson will take you on a curiosity driven hands-on journey to experience how great ideas happen through trying, failing and thinking differently.
