Safety point — Better vision without the glare

Add to Session workbook

We put our eyes through a lot over the course of our lifetime, which means you can never be too careful when it comes to taking care of your eyes. Up to 80% of what we perceive comes through our sense of sight with glare conditions like blinding sun and reflective light, making it that much harder to see. Glare is the effect of UV radiation bouncing off reflective surfaces in all directions – the resulting intense light can reduce your eyes’ visual acuity, causing you to squint to reduce the amount of light entering your eyes. In the short term, too much sun glare can make your eyes feel sore and dry, making eyes red and tired looking. In the long term, sun glare can have a detrimental impact on the long-term health of your eye. That’s where utilising the correct glasses and eye protection for your job can help.
