New Zealand’s premier national health & safety event!The Safeguard National Health and Safety Conference presented by Safeguard in association with the Department of Labour was held on the 6th and 7th of May at the SKYCITY Convention Centre in Auckland. Attended by 150 health & safety professionals from all over New Zealand, it was a resounding success with 89% of delegates who completed the conference evaluation forms rating the conference as excellent or very good. Here is a selection of comments made by the delegates: “This is the premier health and safety conference in NZ” “One of the best I’ve attended, a dynamic atmosphere, great relevant content and very slick organisation – WELL DONE” “One of the best conferences (in terms of information I can adopt in my workplace) that I have been to during my ten years as a safety professional.” The conference has really, established itself as the premier national event on the health & safety calendar, working again to the tag-line “Information, Innovation, Inspiration”. This year saw the addition of the NZ Safety Icebreaker Breakfast on the 6th of May and the OfficeMax interactive separately bookable workshops which were held on the 8th of May. The two international keynote speakers were Dr Tom Krause from the USA and Dr Verna Blewett from Australia, both of whom made huge contribution to the conference and also at the OfficeMax workshops.
