He is also Adjunct Professor of Environmental Medicine at the University of Cincinnati, and a course director for the Leadership and Management course for the Harvard School of Public Health. He started with Proctor & Gamble as an industrial hygienist and progressed to worldwide director of health and safety in a career of 28 years with the company. Dr. Derek Roger (M.A., Ph.D., C.Psychol.)
Psychology at work, empowering performance
Dr Derek Roger is a leading business psychologist, executive coach, author and speaker, whose groundbreaking research at the University of York – where he directed the Stress Research Unit – led to findings which contradict much of what is claimed about stress and resilience. He moved to New Zealand in 2003, where he is an adjunct professor at the University of Canterbury and runs the Challenge of Change training programme for developing resilience skills. Controlled case studies have demonstrated significant and sustained improvements and job satisfaction, performance and health as a result.
