Blue Gold Southern Limited (formerly Kiwispan Christchurch Limited) was fined $25,000 and ordered to pay $23,069 in reparation under s6 of the HSE Act when a gust of wind caused a scissor lift to fall onto concrete with two employees in it. They suffered multiple fractures including to back, pelvis, leg, feet and wrist bones. Self-employed Ronald Alan MacDonald was fined $47,600 and ordered to pay reparation of $23,069 under s17 over the same incident, for failing to install adequate bracing on the structure ( Christchurch DC, June 9, 2010).
