Forest worker WAYNE THOMAS DALLAS was fined $750 under s19(b) and ordered to pay $6500 in reparations after a co-worker suffered serious leg injuries when struck by a hung-up tree that Dallas had cut. The defendant, as crew boss, allowed work to resume close to the hung-up tree while he waited for help to dislodge it. The tree in which the cut tree had lodged suddenly uprooted, falling onto his co-worker and crushing his leg ( Invercargill DC, March 28 2006).
