NZ FISH PRODUCTS LTD was fined $12,000 under s6 and ordered to pay reparations of $6000 after an employee had three fingers amputated in a mill for processing fishmeal. The injured worker had turned off the mill, but did not realise that the auger which removed the processed fish was still operating. His fingers were caught when he reached in to clear a blockage (Lower Hutt DC, December 16).
