In a separate hearing on the same day RICHMOND LTD was fined $2000 and ordered to pay an additional $2000 in reparation after being convicted under s13(b) for failing to adequately train an employee who severed his right index finger and cut his thumb and middle finger while operating a bandsaw. A s6 charge was withdrawn after investigations found the amount of exposed blade on the saw was within acceptable limits. (Wellington DC, 3 July.)
