Supermarket operator TAMATEA FOODS 1996 LTD was fined $2500 under s13(b) after an employee up a ladder was knocked off by goods which fell from a reach truck driven by an untrained operator. The load, two unsecured pallets, exceeded the truck's capacity by 200kg, and was so high it obscured the operator's view. The injured man suffered lacerations requiring sutures, brusiing, a strained knee, amnesia and suspected short-term loss of consciousness. (Napier DC, 20 April)
