BORNEO SAWMILL (NZ) LTD was fined $10,000 under s.6 and $1500 under s.13(b), and was convicted and discharged under s.7(1)(a), after an employee's arm was caught between two driven rollers on a breast bench saw while he was oiling them. The cover normally positioned over the rollers was not in place at the time. No one had been assigned responsibility for oiling the rollers, a task which should have been done with stationary rollers. (Christchurch DC, 20 July)
