TELECOMMUNICATION RIGGING SERVICES LTD pleaded not guilty but was convicted and fined $2000 under s6 after an employee working beneath a suspended tubular steel cellphone tower was killed when it fell on him. At least two methods were available to avoid having to work beneath a suspended load. The fine would have been higher but for the company’s financial situation. (Otahuhu DC, 26 March)
