Eric Arthur Bennett
Contract tree feller Eric Arthur Bennett was fined a total of $5000 after OSH inspection of his work site and operation showed several deficiencies.  The defendant's employee was seen riding on the log skidder while it was being operated and he was later found to be inadequately trained in the use of a chainsaw; the defendant himself was not wearing safely leg protection, and had not ensured that a tree which had been left hung up having been cut was brought to the ground.  A fine of $2000 was imposed for failing to ensure employee safety; $1000 for a failure to adequately train; and $1000 on each of two s17 charges of failing to ensure no action or inaction harmed himself or any other person.
