Massey University’s Healthy Work Group is seeking organisations to participate in its New Zealand Workplace Barometer, a research project to measure the relationship between working conditions and stress-related illness.

The study will identify the psychosocial risk factors in workplaces and how they affect employee wellbeing and organisational performance, with the aim to develop evidence-based interventions for addressing stress-related illness.

The first phase of data collection is now under way, with some of the country’s largest employers and industry bodies participating. Employees are surveyed about their experience of their work environment, including their workloads, levels of inclusion and exposure to bullying and sexual harassment.

The study will then determine how these factors affect individual outcomes, like mental health, and organisational outcomes, like absenteeism and engagement levels.

If your organisation is interested in taking part please contact Zoe Port, email z.port@massey.ac.nz
